PROFANE EXISTENCE REVIEWS BALSA/SEI HEXE

Thanks Profane Existence for the great review!

BALSA - "Chaotic dual guitar arrangements over steady bass melodies, post-hardcore style vocals and off the wall drum patterns."

SEI HEXE - "Tight song structure... earthy with tribal rhythms and chanted, almost gothic vocals at times...and from the wreckage create something new and refreshing."

OUT NOW! BALSA / SEI HEXE 7" SPLIT

Northwest Massive Aggressive! A split from two rising Northwest bands. The angular post-hardcore noise of Seattle's BALSA combines aggressive guitar-driven bursts and themes of perseverance in an AmRep-inspired bar fight of dueling riffs. Recorded by NW legend Tad Doyle (TAD, Brothers of the Sonic Cloth). RIYL 400 BLOWS, METZ, THE JESUS LIZARD, UNSANE.

Portland's SEI HEXE bring harsh brutality and pummeling defiance. The intense all-female band channels forces of nature and darkness with mind-shredding vocals and dense compositions tapping Doom, Goth, Crust and Punk, conjuring a blackened Babes in Toyland. RIYL GALLHAMMER, TRAGEDY, KYLESA, TOMBS.

Oxblood red & bronze splatter vinyl with download card. Artwork by Sean Schock (YOB, BOTSC).

1 Balsa - Rasputin
2 Balsa - One Hoarse Town
3 Balsa - Fighting for Control
4 Sei Hexe - Safely Endangered Species
5 Sei Hexe - Synapses Crawling

BLOWBACK REVIEW ON RAZORCAKE

Razorcake Review of BLOWBACK Greed Runs the Clock
Thanks Razorcake for the great review of Greed Runs The Clock:

"Well-executed punk/hardcore that bounces from one tempo to the next and to the next in complex shifts while a singer makes astute observations about the state of American culture....Varied enough over four tracks to sound fresh throughout, with quite a scratchy guitar sound that provides edginess to the proceedings. 'Cassandra's Lament' is the standout track with spoken word elements that are like a less manic Jello Biafra.... Kudos and backslaps all around; good, good stuff."

PROFANE EXISTENCE REVIEW OF BLOWBACK 'GREED RUNS THE CLOCK'

"BLOWBACK.........holy hell!!!!!!! What a release! This has to be one of the best releases of the year, one that will get played to death and makes me want more than just the four songs on here... I couldn't recommend this more."

ADIOS AND THANKS, ROCK N ROLL REVOLUTION
KPOV Rock n Roll Revolution

We just found out the long standing Rock N Roll Revolution show on KPOV in Bend, Oregon is coming to an end. Thanks to Sean Flynn for the great support, and for calling out BALSA as one of three bands to check out:

"BALSA: Time signature butchers from the PNW. I don't really like the term "math-rock", so I won't attach it to them. If you like later-era Black Flag because of Greg Ginn and in spite of Henry Rollins. You can rock out to them, but good luck dancing to their music!"

Thanks Sean!
REVIEWS OF BLOWBACK "GREED RUNS THE CLOCK"!
The early reviews are in for BLOWBACK's latest, and they're great - take a look!

BLOWBACK on Punknews.org
"The EP solidly plants one foot in the nation's capitol and the other foot in the nation's capitol of sleaze. …undeniable hardcore with its screamed/growled vocals, stomping drums and slashing strings…skittles and tilts like '80s D.C. hardcore ….. [but] adds a level of menace, energy and, frankly, fun, that makes the piece more exciting than run of the mill barking.

Blowback's combination of the various facets of a relatively narrow genre suggest that perhaps hardcore is wider than we think. The wrapping of the different attributes together does create an interesting question: Is Blowback looking back or looking forward?"

BLOWBACK on Punknews.org
"The album superbly navigates an ocean of influences to present to you a steaming hot platter of no bullshit punk rock spiced heavily with some red hot socio-political commentary which will have your ass burning for a week.

You take "Cassandra's Lament" for example and you got the groove of NYC Hardcore yet, the spoken word against blind consumerism reminds me of the early bay punx...while, at the same time, the raging screams of "the smokestacks reaching into the sky" and the pounding drum intro points me towards the seemingly conflicting directions of the more volatile anger of Amebix and Bad Brains (Right Brigade)!

Blowback has put out one of the strongest punk offerings I've heard this year, it's genre-less, it's just punk fucking rock! "

BLOWBACK 'GREED RUNS THE CLOCK' OUT NOW!
The wait is over and the new record is here! Four new tunes from BLOWBACK in a great 7" package with splatter vinyl and hi-quality MP3s included. Jeff @ Buzzcat sez: "That is the COOLEST packaging of a 7" I have ever seen in my life. The colored vinyl is tits." Feel free to call him out on that.

Everything you need to know about Greed Runs the Clock and how to get it are HERE!
BLOWBACK ARTWORK REVEALED
Sure, you've seen it all before. Dueling toads, an onslaught of flies, hourglassess, skulls and a spine twisted in an infinite loop. Once you listen to the record, it will all make sense!

The art is complete for the new release from BLOWBACK, and it's awesome. Serbia's own Shadow teamed up with Seattle's Rob Hanna (Aborted Society, Countdown to Armageddon) to come up with a concept for "Greed Runs The Clock" that looks like nothing before. Get ready for the release coming soon!
